Gateway Bike Path: 2024-08-24
I just went down the path on my bike start to end. Have to say I really preferred the naturalization areas. Once hit more north k it's mowed down grass again, though at least only on 1 side. Could hear so many insects on the sides, it really felt alive. I like the idea of planting 100s of trees as well, make a mini forest like the Assiniboine trail. I felt the areas mowed was more to showcase the businesses and felt more exposed. Would say in the winter it would be a lot less chilly with a lot of trees.
I do agree with others though it should be more kept clear around intersections and crossways. I checked out Antrim and that does seem like a bad collision waiting to happen with very little visibility coming off the path or looking onto it.
I would note as well there is a sidewalk that goes the length of gateway that would give a more open feel, but I feel this was more a trail and gave that I can imagine I'm not in the city for parts of it feel.
Clara got stung by a wasp the other day. We had a bonfire at night and I guess she left her blanket out and it had slept in there, so when she put it on it stung her on the finger. She is so terrified of them now, almost dropped her drink at the Elmwood Night Market when it came near, had to take it from her.
Clara and Ryder both lost tooths this week. Ryder's molar came out yesterday just before bedtime, didn't even realize it was loose.
