Absurdity

There was a time when I wasn't a proud Canadian. I used to believe that America was the best, they were the biggest, they had the best armies, the best planes, they won all the wars, they were in all the movies, that they would save us from aliens or asteroids, that they would get the Russians to work with them because they won the cold war. I used to go on about how great America was and obsessed with their news, watching the Tonight Show, and presidents and everything about their culture.

But you know what? That was me in elementary. I've grown up since then, my life has become more than an action movie, and I am damn proud of the country I am in, of what Canada has done for the world, what it can still do for the world and it's people. I want to be on the path that makes things better, not burn it all down because it's not perfect. I matured, I'm not a child anymore, or at least I think I'm not.
