Absurdity

I really don't buy into that whole "sins of the father" thing, everyone came into this world without a choice of who they are, or who their parents are, at some point I think need to stop dividing who's ancestors are colonizers and who's has been here longer. To me I'm Canadian, I was born here, that's my story, and I don't give a damn about my dad or his ancestors.

That said indigenous people have been given a really shitty time the last few centuries and continue to be pushed around and discriminated against just because of who they are. The government absolutely needs to keep upholding treaty rights and ensuring the government is responsible for the mess that it has created, but I don't think people as individuals are responsible, but society as a whole. A tree is a tree, but a leaf is a leaf.

I do think they have a right to defend their land and as a nation within a nation have every say in who hunts or doesn't. Though I do think federal government needs to watch those numbers and say *how much* can be hunted by those allowed to hunt, as is humans have messed up the planet and killed so many species off, we need to be as kind to nature as we can be.

TLDR: It absolutely is stolen land, but don't blame the individual for what they didn't have a say in, but the responsiblity lies in society and government as a whole.
