Absurdity

Hey! Yes we understand the issue with anonymous posting, and we do take a few steps towards it. If you are breaking the rules while being anonymous we may deal with it more harshly than if you were just posting. A lot of people do use the feature as intended though, to ask tough questions, to protect themselves, and we do respect that too.

That said we also can't currently turn off nicknames, so turning the anonymous feature doesn't have much effect right now and preventing people from using an ingrained Facebook feature would be too much for the admin team to spend time on. We do turn it off for a week a month, but have kind of stopped when nicknames became mandatory.

I would say we do track repeat offenders, anon or anon, and warn or remove them from the group as needed. We banned 4 people this week actually, and are always adding to the admin team so we can try to do more, be pro-active and be on posts before they are an issue, steering and guiding them as need be. We also track people who misuse the reacts, especially the laugh react, another feature we can't turn off in the group, but have banned for. We understand everyone may have a bad day, so start with warnings or suspensions, but do also block when it is clear they are not here to be helpful and supportive.
