It's so silly, if I spend 2000 on my kids the week before CT, but then buy myself something after the 20th it's judgment, it doesn't matter when the child's needs are met as long as they are met. Money is money, all goes in the same account, expenses come up as they do through the month, needs are met, so it's working.
Incredibly upsetting and disappointing to hear about the shelter at 190 closing. As well as them not having a few supervised consumption sites by now, losing this shelter for a navigation center and a 72 hour holding tank seems short sited. Close the shelters down when you build the homes and there is no demand, don't close them and hope demand vanishes. Navigation center sounds good, but that could be anywhere downtown, a shelter being fully utilized did not need to go.
To me they may always have reasons to be anonymous, and they are a person in need of help regardless if I know their name or anything about them. Some people may just need a touch of help, others may be in a worse situation and need constant help. I wouldn't say asking for help again means it is a scam, just that they are in an unstable situation and a few meals only last so long before they need more. It depends on long term solutions that we as a group can't offer. Can choose to ignore the anons asking for help and just help those with a name, and I do think those tend to get more help.
Don't see how Americans market worse service for more money as better, just because the 1% can pay for better care. Society is about how all your citizens are treated not just the rich.
I just hate it because they correlate being "right" with attractiveness. They'll also post things about liberals saying they all have tattoos and blue hair saying they look unattractive to them as if that makes them morally correct somehow, like their divine being makes people ugly for being "wrong".
Maid is compassion. Maid is giving people a choice and control on their bodies and how they choose to leave this world. When I go I would like to be able to make that choice to go as peacefully and as painlessly as possible, with proven drugs known to let people go comfortably. This is a form of healthcare, everyone will die. As much as we are lucky to be here with our quality of life we will die eventually. People should be able to choose to do so. It isn't so simple that anyone can do it, and this also makes it seem like the cause of death, when it is just the method of relief. People would be dead regardless but they can go with dignity and control. You sent Calling it "maid deaths" is as ridiculous as saying paramedic deaths or chemo deaths. It is just framing it to sound scary.
I work 8-5 now, I kind of miss shift work, at least an 8 hour shift is 8 hours, not a hidden one hour break that kind of just steals your time. I'd rather have an extra hour at home with my family than an hour at work eating or sitting or whatever.
Really shows the need for safe consumption sites to take the pressure off emergency services. If people do drugs in a safe supervised site with medical staff on site then there will be less people found in the streets passed out who may or may not be in need of emergency services.
Filler episodes helped solidify character development, even if nothing really happened it helped make the transitions seem more slow and natural vs "How come that villain changed sides so easily", and was great for world building.
