Absurdity

I never got with dogs and cats why being pure-breed is a good thing. Sure it can look nice, but wouldn't inbreeding limit genetic selection and eventually cause them to stop really evolving? If you mix the breeds a lot of the cats are really cute, plus if you select for something like intelligence or loyalty instead of breed we could have smarter pets. I don't know if our views on this can change, since we like pure-breeds so much, mixing is always frowned on, but can't hurt to try make things better.
