Good Week: 2011-03-25
It's been a really nice week for me, Jeff has had 2 days off this week, so I am in a lot better mood this week than I usually am, I can spend a couple of days a week with him, just four is too much.
Started training Youseff on the line this week, he's picking things up nicely, and it's a lot nicer having the extra hand on line. There is still the language barrier, but it wasn't as bad as it was a few months ago, and as long as I am the one training him it goes well, as we can communicate well together. When Jeff tries to tell him stuff it doesn't work out so well, as he can't get his message across.
I wasn't able to sleep last night, due to a combination of Black Blood Brothers and spinach salad. I was showing Youseff how to do a spinach salad, when Jeff comes and asks is this how it's supposed to be done from now on. I say no it's not, this is just how I'm experimenting with it. I think I made it look rather good, I'll put the pictures up eventually. Later on in the night I hear Brett asking is this how the spinach salads are supposed to look and Jeff replies that's how they look from now on. Later on after my shift I'm talking to Brett and he said they look very sloppy, thrown together, and messy. I tell him that's how Jeff does everything, and he should see how I make it, which I'll probably show him Monday. For some reason though this was keeping me up all night. Just bothers me that Jeff keeps making such sloppy food. I told Brett if it doesn't look good enough to serve, don't take it out. The last thing about this that bothered me about it is when I was making them again today Jeff was using all the talking points Brett had yesterday, so I know Brett had a talk with Jeff about it, and now Jeff goes from liking how I make them to saying it's sloppy, when really it's only sloppy when he does it and that's what we are trying to work on.
