Palestine: 2026-01-22
I'm a proponent of a free Palestine, and decry how heavy handed Israel has been in this war, killing so many civilians just breeds more soldiers. I will support a two state solution for a free and independent Palestine, that has control over it's borders, but that can not happen with Hamas around. They need a leadership change and a 30 year program dedicated to educating the next generation away from hate and religion, away from extremism. Honestly it would take hard work and risk lives of whoever tries to change Palestine for the better. But they should be in control of their own destiny.
I also support a single state solution, where Palestine is given equal voting rights and representation as Israel in parliament, but again that won't work with Hamas or the current Israel leadership.
Realistically it does feel like a no win situation. Israel should have the right to feel safe, but also shouldn't push Palestine out of their land. They can try an occupation to remove Hamas, but that will lead to resentment which increases Hamas numbers, who control the current education system.
It's a shame the world is divided so much elsewhere, I feel the world should come together and work on this as a whole to find a solution, but egos and religion get in the way, and pretty much everyone pushes what is best for themselves and not what is best for everyone.
Borders are tricky and I don't think there will be a solution unless take religion out of the equation and let logic and reason rule. Regardless of what people may think the solution is, it is clearly not killing each other or continuation of violence. It is not dead children.
